I normally answer privately but since this comes up frequently i decided to share it.

it all depends on the assignment.

lighting i use a range of daylight, hot lights(from 2k softlights to 1k/500k fresnel) and strobes.

gear- Canon 5d mk2, lenses 20-35mm 2.8 L, 35mm 1.4 L, 50mm 1.2 L, 85mm 1.2 L.

my fav lens, well it varies cause i like them for certain things. the zoom is only for landscapes, 35mm i love because i can use it for storytelling and reportage type photos. 50mm because its a versatile but i can also come in close on the subject almost macro like. 85mm is my fav length because of the compression it gives to the image. my primes are what i use the most for my fashion work. i like to shoot at 1000 iso or higher and at around f2.2-4.5. i like the isolation it gives.

retouching like anything else it depends on the assignment. i do prefer natural skin qualities and a realistic point of view. though i have been guilty of it myself i do prefer the model to actually look like the model and not a 3D Computer rendering of them.
